Student Spotlight: Rachel Bukher
There's no debating the fact that Rachel Bukher loves Hillel!
Q. When did you join Hillel? A. My first day of college! As an Early Admit student and one of the youngest people on campus, I was super nervous, but everyone in Hillel made me feel super welcome!
Q. Favorite Hillel activity so far? A. The Shabbaton we just had over Thanksgiving weekend was one heck of an experience! The food was amazing, the place was beautiful, it was so much fun!
Q. What is your major? A. Currently I'm a Political Science major, although I might switch to Philosophy. I hope to go to law school in the future.
Q. We heard you're an award-winning member of RCC's Debate Team, tell us about it. A. The debate team is amazing! We recently had a tournament against Yeshiva University and Dominican College, and our team won first place! A few other teammates are also in Hillel.
Q. Favorite holiday? A. Chanukah! I love donuts and latkes, and it lasts for eight days! I also love the beautiful and miraculous story behind it. Imagine how strategic the Maccabees must have been. They were rebels who fought for their rights, with G-d on their side. It's powerful.
Q. Your secret talent? A. I can come up with words that people can't think of, I just throw it out there and it's usually the word they needed.
Q. If there was one super power you could have, what would it be? A. The power to manipulate time and space. That would be super helpful in my daily life.
