First We Celebrate Hillel began this week with a wonderful series of Purim celebrations. We are grateful that we were able to celebrate with several parties and megillah readings both on and off campus, with a total attendance of more than five hundred! Wow! Hillel Adapts to Corona Limitations, Continues to Serve Students Typically, this time of year we send you our schedule of Jewish Heritage Month and Holocaust Commemoration activities, based at Rockland Community College, inviting you to join us for these events. This year, circumstances around COVID-19 have forced us to put our plans on hold for now. Public gatherings have been banned at RCC for now, and, as per the Governor's decision, RCC is likely to be switching to virtual classrooms.   Meanwhile, Hillel will continue to serve our students and alumni and support them through this difficult situation. For as long as it is safe, we will host small home-based gatherings and small group outings such as local hikes. We will continue to make ourselves available for personal mentoring and other supportive services as needed, either in person, if appropriate, or by telephone or videoconference. If any students need to self-isolate, we will pay them virtual visits to uplift their spirits.     We extend our prayers for the complete recovery of all who are afflicted.
